National Blue Ribbon School

The United States Department of Education bestowed its highest honor on Newark Charter School by designating it a National Blue Ribbon School for Academic Excellence.

Newark Charter School has received a “Superior School” rating from the Delaware Department of Education every year.

The school was cited as “Recognition School: Highest Performing School” in the state.

The Global Report Card, published by the George W. Bush Presidential Center, ranked Newark Charter School # 2 in the nation in reading on a list of the United States’ top performing schools or districts.

Student academic teams have earned the privilege of representing Delaware in national and international competitions such as the International Odyssey of the Mind, National Academic Challenge and Business Professionals of America.

Our students have earned state championships and multiple awards in events such as Delaware Math Invitational, Lego League, Science Olympiad, Delaware Stock Market Game, Meaningful Economics Competition, Reader’s Digest National Word Power Challenge, Delaware Geography Bee, Delaware Spelling Bee, Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association Fire Prevention Essay Contest, You Be the Chemist, and multi-state band, chorus and orchestra competitions.
