Tops in Their Fields - Secretary of Education Scholars

Michael Chen and Tanvi Venkatesh, were selected as 2018 Secretary of Education Scholars. “I would like to honor you for your achievements, dedication, and determination to reach your goals,” said Delaware Secretary of Education, Dr. Susan Bunting.  Michael, who led his peers as Class President and Executive Student Council President, is also an All-State Soccer captain, Mock trial Golden Gavel winner, and was voted Chief Justice of Delaware’s Youth in Government. Michael will attend Harvard in the fall. Tanvi was recognized as a Science Olympiad champion, a Future Health Professionals (HOSA) state champion, Philanthropy award winner, dancer, fencer and Executive Student Council Secretary. Tanvi will begin her undergraduate career at the University of Pennsylvania this fall.
