National Merit Semifinalists & National Merit Commended

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) recently announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Two academically talented NCS seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships next spring after scoring in the top 1% on the PSAT/NMSQT. Congratulations to Jonas Ho and Raphael Kim.

Congratulations also to Newark Charter's National Merit Scholarship Commended Students. Approximately 1.5 million high school students take the PSAT each year. Of those, just 50,000 (3.3%) are Commended Scholars. Newark Charter is proud to celebrate the achievements of seniors Logan Blackburn, Flynn Miller, Sreeya Pittala, John Qian, Arunia Sambandam, Ashwin Sawant, Ethan Shanahan, Taran Venkatesh, and Camille Veron.
