How to Get Started in 3 Steps

Step 1: Download the App

Download the Securly Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Step 2: Log In

  1. Open the app and tap Login.

  2. Enter the primary email address you have on file with Newark Charter School.

  3. Tap Get Instant Access. Check your inbox for a confirmation email, click the link to verify your account, and set your password.

Step 3: Set Your Home Preferences

Once logged in, use the navigation menu at the bottom of the screen:

  • Activity: Browse real-time web activity.

  • Rules: Adjust category blocking, enable SafeSearch, or block specific URLs.

  • Schedules / Pause: Manage offline hours and screen time boundaries.

Does Securly filter devices when students are at school?

Yes. Securly filters all school-issued devices 24/7, whether connected to the school network or home Wi-Fi. Parent-customized rules apply when the device is off-site/at home.

Can I override Newark Charter School’s core web safety rules?

No. School policy always maintains a core layer of protection to comply with CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) standards. Parents can choose to make filtering more restrictive at home (e.g., blocking YouTube or social media), but cannot unblock essential restricted categories set by the school.

What if my login email isn't recognized?

Your Securly Home account is automatically linked to the email address registered in Infinite Campus official records. If you receive an error when entering your email, please verify your email in the school portal or contact the IT Helpdesk to update your records.
