Sixth-grader is state’s top speller

Raphael Kim, a sixth-grader, outlasted more than 60 competitors, most of them older, at the Delaware Spelling Bee held in March.  Raphael won the competition by correctly spelling her final word, “manifesto.”  She will next compete in the national spelling bee held in Washington D.C. in May.  When asked how it felt to be crowned the State Spelling Bee Champion, she said, “ I felt   really happy and also relieved it was over.”Raphael Kim
