Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

Scholastic Writing Award RecipientsSome very talented NCHS students from Mr. Matthew Lohman’s and Mrs. Terri Pruitt’s 10th and 11th-grade English classes submitted a wide variety of works, including descriptive essays, short stories, and humorous exemplification essays, to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.  They earned 22 awards, the second highest total in the state, and a combined 11 Gold and Silver Keys, the most of any school in the state of Delaware.  Gold Key recipients were 11th graders Gabe Roy, Hannah Cooper, and Heather Callahan.  Their works will be submitted to the national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards office for review.  Silver Key recipients were Michael Chen, Sayer Evans, Natalie Nwanekwu, Luci Ostheimer, Charmy Patel, Shaily Patel, Rhea Rawal, and Ravina Sashti.  Students earning Honorable Mention were Silpa Annavarapu, Hannah Cooper, Teja Dantuluri, Sayer Evans, Tara Jensen, Shu-Jin Kust, Charmy Patel, Shaily Patel, and Gabe Roy.
