Essay Winner

Fourth grader Henry Michel was recently named the winner of the Newark Area Welfare Committee essay contest. The Newark Area Welfare Committee is committed to helping Newark area families in crisis regain balance by providing them the necessities of life. Henry’s winning essay about what it means to be a good and faithful community member or neighbor caught the attention of Newark Mayor Polly Sierer, who visited Henry at the Intermediate School to present him with the first-place prize.
