School receives student safety award

Director Evelyn Brown of the Department of Homeland Security recently presented a special award to Newark Charter School to recognize its commitment to and 100% compliance with Delaware’s Omnibus School Safety Act. In accepting the award on behalf of the entire Newark Charter School faculty, Intermediate School Principal Mr. Jesse Wakeman said, “The reason that Newark Charter School dedicates so much time and energy in our emergency procedures is to ensure that   Newark Charter School is a safe place to learn, work and play.”
