Dan Newcott is assistant principal for Patriot Way campus

Dan Newcott taught Newark Charter School’s first eighth grade class. That was in 2002. Since then, he has taught English to a dozen more eighth grade classes at NCS. Now, he takes on a new role in the position of assistant principal in the Primary and Intermediate Schools, which collectively serves 1,330 students. In addition to his teaching role, Mr. Newcott coached boys soccer, created the high school’s “NCS Unplugged” talent show, served as eighth grade Team Leader and faculty representative on the Board of Directors. He also spent one year as student advisor at Odyssey Charter School’s Lower Campus, where he served as transportation supervisor, dean of discipline, facilities manager and conducted teacher evaluations. As a long-time teacher at Newark Charter School, I consider it an honor to have been a part of developing the culture of our school and I look forward to the opportunity to serve in a broader capacity,” said Mr. Newcott.
