Good Morning Families of Newark Charter Primary and Intermediate Schools,  

In an effort to continue to share information regarding Newark Charter School’s remote learning program, we wanted to offer you some insight on the technological platform(s) that your child will be using during virtual learning.  

Learning Platforms and Compatible Devices
Newark Charter School has selected the following platforms to support student learning in a remote model:

• Kindergarten  - 2nd Grade: Seesaw with Zoom links embedded in the Seesaw learning management system.  This platform can be utilized using any device that can access the internet and has a camera and speakers, including but not limited to:

  • iPad / Tablet,

  • Laptop / Desktop,

  • Kindle,

  • Chromebook

• 3rd Grade:  Google Classroom with Zoom links embedded in the Google Classroom learning management system.  This platform can be utilized using any device that can access the internet, has a camera and speakers.  A keyboard is preferred.  Devices include but not limited to:

  • Laptop / Desktop,

  • Chromebook  

• 4th - 6th Grade:  Schoology using the Schoology Conferencing feature on the learning management system.  This platform will be accessible through the Chromebook that NCS is providing your child.  As a reminder, steps outlined in past communications (which can be found at https://www.newarkcharterschool.org/intermediate-school/home) must be adhered to prior to receiving an NCS Chromebook.  

Instructions on How to Use Learning Platforms

Newark Charter School has a new page on its website titled ‘Remote Learning.’  It is located along the top of the page.  This page contains instructional videos and other resources to help guide parents through the remote learning platforms.  Here is a link to that page: https://www.newarkcharterschool.org/remote-learning-home We will also provide you with a hardcopy including step by step instructions on how to use your child’s learning platform.  These instructions will be given to you when you pick up your child’s materials on September 1 (Primary School) and September 2 (Intermediate School)  

Parent Support
Newark Charter School will be creating a parent support email address that will be posted on the remote learning portion of the website for parents who need technical assistance.  This email address will be available to families by the first student day, September 8th.

We recognize that converting to a remote learning model will be a large adjustment for all involved.  Please know that the entire Newark Charter faculty is committed to working with you during this time, as we appreciate your flexibility and patience.
