Primary School Promotes Kindness

The guidance counselors in the Primary School, Val Baker and Dawn Hagen, have launched a series of initiatives to promote kindness. The first event was held this fall in coordination with the University of Delaware Blue Hen HERO Program with a visit from YoUDee, the mascot, and UD student athletes during recess.The UD HERO program encouraged students to pledge to be positive throughout the day, filling their Blue Hens Buckets with acts of kindness toward others. By filling their buckets, they transformed into a HERO and received Positive Power Perks as a reward including a Be A HERO program certificate, complimentary tickets to the Be A HERO Delaware Football game on Saturday, November 11, as well as on-field recognition with fellow HERO challenge participants.
